Course Information
Description Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, college, and student.
Required Textbooks Textbook Purchasing Statement: A student attending Lamar State College Port Arthur is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from the college-affiliated bookstore. The same textbook may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer.

Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate the use of major theories and functions of clinical supervision; discuss legal and ethical issues in clinical supervision; discuss administrative and managerial tasks involved in clinical supervision; describe effective supervisory relationships; and identify current assessment and evaluation techniques for supervisee performance.

Program Student Learning Outcomes • Demonstrates effective, ethical, multicultural care for a diverse group of individuals within the scope of practice of a professional counselor in the field of behavioral addictions and substance use disorders. • Demonstrate the ability to conduct professional screening, assessment, treatment planning, prevention and education, case coordination services, and documentation of those services as a Substance Abuse Counselor. • Identify and demonstrate knowledge of the basics of counseling principles, theories and skills to include crisis management. • Demonstrate knowledge of the various models and theories of behavioral addictions and substance use disorders and other problems related to addiction

Attendance Policy Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success. Students with more than three absences from the course will receive an academic penalty (which is spelled out by the instructor).

COVID 19 Information The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Facility Policies No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
